This blog is part four in a series about how to create your Best Year Ever through creating a compelling vision. To read part three in the series, “Are You Standing in the Way of Your Dreams?go here…

The last three blogs have laid out why it’s important to have a compelling vision, how to create one, and what can get in our way (ya know that mind trash, fears, negative beliefs about ourselves? All that fun stuff…). NOW we talk a bit about how to create empowering beliefs to move us forward, towards our big vision for our life and business.

“It’s not what you say out of your mouth that determines your life, it’s what you whisper to yourself that has the most power.” – Robert Kiyosaki

I love this quote because when it comes to our mind trash, (gremlins, limiting beliefs, fears, not-good-enoughs…) it is absolutely true. You do not hold yourself back because the voice in your head says you are amazing. You hold yourself back because the voice in your head says you are not “good enough” or worthy of success as you are. This voice stops us immediately, killing our confidence, hindering our success and income.

Our limiting thoughts come up as we start to step out of our comfort zone, to play bigger. They are not trying to hurt us, on the contrary, they are attempting to protect us and keep us safe. The unknown can be scary, and our gremlins are there to keep us small, and unseen, safe from the harshness of the world.

Awareness is Key
Until you are aware of your mind trash and its messages, it will continue to hold you back, keep your confidence low, and stop you from reaching for the vision of your life. Becoming aware and recognizing these harmful thoughts takes away their control and lessens its power over us.

4 Steps to Turn Limiting Beliefs into Empowering Beliefs

  1. Identify the limiting belief – what exactly is the belief holding you back?
  2. How does each belief limit you? Does it stop you from getting clients? Finding love? Marketing yourself?
  3. Decide how you want to be, feel, and act instead.
  4. Create a turnaround statement that gives you permission to be, feel and act this new way. Repeat your statement multiple times per day for 30 days.

For example:

Current belief: I’m not valuable enough to charge higher rates for my services.

Turnaround Statement: I am confident in my abilities. I am highly valuable, I make a huge difference for my clients, and I am deserving of making great money.

It is critical that you realize YOU are in charge of your thoughts and you get to choose whether to listen and agree with them or not. Just because you have the thought, doesn’t mean it’s true. These harmful thoughts can creep in when you least expect them, and you might not even notice they’re there, stopping you from dreaming up your best life and impactful business.

By asking yourself these questions, you will begin to unpeel the layers of beliefs holding you back. With each layer, you will become more confident as a woman and an entrepreneur, taking you closer to your vision for your life and your business.

I ask you, will your thoughts hold you back? Or hold you UP?

Always remember, awareness is most important. Once you are aware of the messages, you can begin to make a change. Until then, you will remain exactly where you are.

I want to see you be successful beyond your wildest dreams, let me support you in shifting those limiting beliefs into empowering ones so you can thrive!
