When reaching for a goal, you must have a powerful vision. When you do, nothing can get in your way. It will propel you through the best times and the worst times. Your vision is like your guiding light, keeping you on track, helping you be more creative in the midst of frustration, and joy.

Here are the elements you need in your vision. First, you need to know your why. This is the big, overriding reason you’re doing what you’re doing. I highly suggest including your loved ones to make it even more powerful. Is it to have a better life for your family? To send your kids to private school? To take your dream vacation? To make lots of money so you can donate it to a special non-profit in your community? Know your WHY.

Next comes your vision. This is a Technicolor snapshot in your mind of what you want to create. Include as many of the senses as you can in your vision. What do you see, smell, taste, feel and hear? The more detailed you are, the stronger the vision. An example could be, “I am at my vacation beach house. I am sitting in my blue lounge chair on the beach, first thing in the morning. It’s still a bit chilly, but the sun warms my body. I stick my toes in the sand, take a sip of hot coffee and breathe in the fresh ocean air. I hear the waves crash upon the shore, and think about how grateful I am to have a thriving business helping thousands of people, that allows me to have such a wonderful life.” The vision can literally be seen and felt in the body. The more clear your vision, the better.

Every day, concentrate on your vision for at least one minute at a time—in the morning before getting out of bed and at night before going to sleep. Your brain does not know the difference between actually doing something and only visualizing it and this actually makes the brain achieve more.

I’d love to hear from you! What’s your vision? Reply and let me know!
